The Minister of Industry and Trade We look forward to enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and Russia and opening new horizons for partnership

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion was opened today at the Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025) in its twenty -eighth edition, which is hosted by the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, in the presence of a high official, as Bahrain participates this year as a guest of honor for the forum.
The official opening of the Bahraini pavilion took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Liopimova, along with the president of the “Roskongers” organization organizing the forum Alexander Stephen, and the ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation Ahmed Abdel Rahman Al -Saati, and a number of officials, businessmen and media personnel from both sides.
In his speech during the opening ceremony, Minister Fakhro emphasized the depth of Bahraini -Russian relations that extend for decades of fruitful cooperation, noting that the selection of Bahrain as a guest of honor for this international economic event reflects the Kingdom’s advanced position on the global economic scene, and constitutes a platform to enhance partnerships with the public and private sectors in Russia.
He said in his speech, “We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to friends in the Russian Federation for the invitation of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a guest of honor for this important forum and your honor for us today in launching its pavilion with the participation of a high -level delegation headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Acts and Youth Affairs, National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard and with the participation of a number of ministers and officials in the sectors of industry, trade, tourism, culture, investment and business.
He added, “This generous hosting coincides with the thirty -five years anniversary of the exchange of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly Russian Russia, during which the relations between them in all political, economic, social, cultural and other fields were strengthened.”
In his speech, he stressed that “these relations are a role model for the ideal relationship between countries that are based on mutual respect and the keenness on joint cooperation of everything that serves the interests of their friendly peoples.”
During these years, His Majesty, the great king, made four official visits to the Russian Federation, the last of which was in May last year, and a joint government committee was formed for cooperation and signing more than forty agreements and a memorandum of cooperation in various fields and conducting daily flights and facilitating entry visas for their citizens and cooperation with the Russian Investment Fund and establishing many cultural events in the two countries, the last of which will be the historical exhibition that will open in a museum The Armitage tomorrow evening.
He stated, “We look forward to contributing this participation in enhancing cooperation between our two friendly countries, and opening new horizons for partnership in various sectors,”
The Russian Minister of Culture, Olga Lubimova, also delivered a speech by the way, praising the distinguished Bahraini participation, stressing the importance of strengthening cultural and economic relations between the two countries, and aspiration for more cooperation in multiple areas.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion reviews the most prominent investment opportunities and economic initiatives in the Kingdom, as well as highlighting sustainable development projects and the advantages of the attractive investment environment, within the framework of Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that the SPIEF Forum is one of the most prominent economic events in Russia, and annually brings together a group of decision makers and economics leaders from different countries of the world to discuss global economic challenges and explore cooperation and investment opportunities.
