A memorandum of understanding between the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and"International Marriott"

Dubai, June 19/ WAM/ The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with Marriott International, with the aim of enhancing the emirate’s attractiveness, diversifying its offers, upgrading guest experiences, and sponsoring promising talents in tourism, in line with its efforts to accelerate the sector’s growth, and redefine its distinction standards.
The agreement comes within the framework of the efforts to enhance the long -term joint cooperation between the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department and Marriott International, which would contribute to achieving the targets of Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to consolidate Dubai’s position as a leading global and entertainment destination.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by His Excellency Issam Kazem, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commercial Marketing, affiliated with the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, Sandep Wali, CEO of Operations in the Middle East and luxury hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in International Marriott.
The Memorandum of Understanding sets the main pillar of aspects of joint cooperation, which includes the launch of innovative promotional campaigns for Dubai all over the world through the Marriott International Hotels Group, in addition to joint marketing initiatives, including ads with multiple channels as well as social media campaigns and cooperation with influencers, to highlight the unique attractions in Dubai, its cultural heritage, and its exceptional experiences, in a way that contributes to increasing their attractiveness, The definition of its various tourism performances and ingredients around the world.
His Excellency Issam Kazim, Executive Director of the Dubai Tourism and Trade Marketing Foundation, affiliated with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, said that the ambitious strategies followed by our distinguished partners such as Marriott International contribute to enhancing the growth and flexibility of the tourism sector in Dubai and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding comes within the framework of the vision of the rational leadership aimed at establishing the emirate’s position to be the pioneer of innovation in the tourism and hospitality sectors worldwide.
He added that while we seek to achieve the targets of Dubai Economic Agenda D33, such partnerships reflect the distinguished relationship between the public and private sectors in the city, and its continuous success in providing exceptional experiences for visitors from all over the world.
For his part, Sandeb Wali, CEO of Operations in the Middle East and luxury hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in International Marriott, said: “We have a portfolio of more than 50 hotels from different groups in Dubai, including the chosen, distinguished and luxurious that are compatible with the various experiences provided by the emirate for each group of travelers, while the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai continues its efforts to enhance relations between the general sectors And private. ”
He emphasized the commitment to work with the department to provide exceptional experiences for guests from all over the world, and give them the opportunity to explore this distinguished destination.
Joint cooperation plans include integrating the famous landmarks in Dubai, the scene of food and cooking arts, and various experiences within the seasonal travel offers offered by Marriott International and also in the group loyalty program.
This initiative aims to provide guests with authentic and locally dedicated experiences, increase their association with the emirate, and enhance its position as a preferred destination for the visit.
The cooperation between the two parties highlights the important role of the public and private sectors in Dubai, and contributing to advancing the sustainable growth of the tourism sector, which is reflected in the strong performance of the sector since the beginning of this year until now, as Dubai has received 7.15 million international visitors in the first four months of 2025, an increase of 7% compared to the same period last year.
These results are integrated with what was recorded in the year 2024, with the number of visitors to Dubai to 18.72 million, which represents 9 percent growth on an annual basis.
