Ras Al Khaimah Municipality honors the Food Safety Award winners in its second edition
Ras Al -Khaimah, on June 20/ WAM/ The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department organized a party to announce the winners in the second edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Food Safety Award, coinciding with the International Food Safety Day, which came this year under the slogan: “Food Safety: Science and the Foundation of Decisions.”
The ceremony, which was held at the Intercontinental Resort and Spa, Ras Al -Khaimah – Port of Al -Arab, was attended by His Excellency Munther Mohammed bin Shukab Al -Zaabi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, and Adel Al -Suwaidi, Director of Public Health and Safety Department, along with a number of public directors and public work leaders in the emirate, in addition to food safety officials in food facilities.
The organization of this version came as an affirmation of the commitment of the General Health and Safety Department in the Municipality of Ras Al -Khaimah to support a healthy, sustainable and safe food environment, which reflects positively on the health and well -being of society, in line with Ras Al Khaimah 2030 vision.
The award includes in its second session three main categories, which reflects the strategic directions of the department: the distinguished food facility and the heroes of the first line of food safety officials who work behind the scenes to ensure food safety and the leader of the facility, in a qualitative initiative that is the first of its kind at the level of regulatory authorities in the country, aimed at empowering and supporting leaders that make real difference in this field.
The Municipality of Ras Al -Khaimah relied on the evaluation of the participants on international standards and approved systems in the field of food safety, and a group of experts from the strategic partners in the emirate participated in the Supreme Jury, to ensure transparency, justice and professionalism in choosing the winners.
