In the presence of the President of the European Parliament, Abu Dhabi hosts a parliamentary session "Emirati-European" And meeting "Gulf-European" To consolidate cooperation

Abu Dhabi, June 21 / WAM / The capital, Abu Dhabi, will host a high -level parliamentary event, where the Federal National Council chaired by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Council, will hold a special “Emirati -European” session in the presence of His Excellency Roberta Mitsola, Speaker of the European Parliament.

This visit is of special importance, as it is the first to be carried out by the President of the European Parliament during his presidency to the Arab Gulf region, which confirms the depth and durability of cooperation relations and strategic partnership between the two sides.

This visit comes in response to an official invitation from His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, and coincides with a vital stage in bilateral relations, especially after the announcement of the launch of comprehensive economic partnership negotiations between the UAE and the European Union, where this parliamentary movement emphasizes the mutual concern to keep pace with the formal diplomacy path, and provide full support to common interests, especially on the economic and development level.

The visit will witness an official discussion session between the Federal National Council and the European Parliament, aimed at exploring new horizons for parliamentary cooperation, and coordinating visions and positions regarding the most prominent issues and developments on the regional and international arenas.

The special session in the Zayed Hall is scheduled to be held at the Federal National Council headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of a number of Excellencies, the ministers, senior officials, and representatives of European diplomatic missions approved by the state.

Within the visit agenda, the Federal National Council, headed by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Council of the Eighteenth periodic meeting of Excellencies and Excellency the heads of the Shura Councils, Representatives, National and Nation in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, will host a meeting of the heads of Gulf legislative councils with His Excellency Roberta Mitsola, President of the European Parliament in Abu Dhabi.

The European Gulf parliamentary meeting comes in the context of implementing the decision of the Excellencies and Excellency the heads of the Gulf legislative councils issued during their eighteenth periodic meeting, which was hosted by the Council in Abu Dhabi on November 12, 2024, with the aim of strengthening the European Gulf parliamentary dialogue in issues of common concern between the two sides.
