223.7 billion dollars expected to spend the tourists of the Cooperation Council states in 2034

Muscat on June 21 / WAM / The GCC countries are achieving a steady progress in many indicators related to the tourism sector, as data issued by the statistical center of the Council of the Council indicates that the expected spending for visitors to the GCC states will reach 223.7 billion US dollars in 2034, while the expected percentage to contribute to the spending of visitors coming from the total exports will be 13.4%.
The latest data issued by the center shows that the total spending of international visitors in the countries of the Council recorded 135.5 billion US dollars in 2023, an increase of 28.9% compared to 2019.
The GCC countries came in the first positions in the security and safety index at the level of the Middle East and North Africa region for the year 2024, as all the countries of the Council exceeded the regional average of 5.86 degrees, knowing that the index ranges between 1 and 7 degrees.
All the countries of the Council also topped the first 6 places of the passport force at the level of the Arab region.
