"Abu Dhabi Marine Sports" .. a march full of continental and international achievements

Abu Dhabi, June 28 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club proceeds at a steady pace to establish its position as a sustainable pioneering destination in developing marine sports with its original and innovative heritage and modern, through its prominent presence in local, regional and international championships, as well as hosting and organizing major marine events at the national and international levels.

Under its umbrella, the club embraces an integrated system of marine and heritage sports that make up the tissue of the Emirati identity, including hunting, sailing boats, dignity, and heritage blasphemy, where until the middle of this year, 33 championships and racing were organized in the context of its commitment to enhancing the maritime sports movement in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in line with the club’s goals in reviving the Emirati marine heritage

The “Dalma Historical Racings” organized by the club in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, such as the crown jewel within its annual activities, where its last version witnessed a record participation of 5,536 contestants in 50 competitions, more than a thousand prizes were monitored with a value of more than 33 million dirhams, and the Dalma Radia race is the 60 -foot category of the most prominent event, as it extends for a distance of 68 nautical miles (125 km) From Dalma Island to the Beach of the Port, reflecting the depth of the link to the Emirati marine heritage.

On the level of global achievements, the club continued to record its distinguished presence this year, as its most prominent manifestation was the global achievement achieved by the Abu Dhabi team for the fast boats in the Pavia -Venice race, which is classified as the tallest river boat race in the world, led by veteran Italian contestant Guido Kapleini, who set a new international record with an hour, 41 minutes and 54 seconds, and an average speed of 207.26 km In the hour, in a new confirmation of the efficiency and excellence of the club team on the international scene.

The Emirati hero Rashid Al -Qamzi, the leader of the “Abu Dhabi 1” boat, engraved his name in letters of gold in history records, after he became the first contestant in the history of the International Marine Sports Federation to achieve 5 titles in the Formula 2 World Championship, the last of which was during the 2024 Portugal tour, completing his series of achievements that started since 2017.

In an effort to enhance the joint vision and unify national efforts, the club recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, with the aim of promoting marine sports, and coordinating the organization of championships and events at various levels, by exchanging experiences and technical and administrative knowledge, in a way that contributes to supporting Emirati marine sports and enhancing its global position.

In this regard, Majid Abdullah Al -Muhairi, Vice -Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, stressed that the club is an honorable interface for Emirati sports, and he said: Our role goes beyond participation and organization, we are keen to consolidate the Emirati maritime heritage, and leadership in all forums, indicating that the club’s organization of major events such as the historic Dalma race reflects the deep commitment to revive the inheritance in parallel with the developments of modern sports Formula boats.

He explained that the community of 2025 is a qualitative opportunity to launch comprehensive sports and societal initiatives targeting all groups of society, with the aim of enhancing sports awareness and expanding the base of participants in marine sports.
