Chelsea beat Benfica and qualifies for a quarter -final "Club World Cup"
Charlotte on June 29/ WAM/ The English Chelsea team qualified for the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, after beating Benfica, Portuguese 4-1, in an exciting match that extended to additional runs and held at the “Bank of America” stadium in Charlotte, as part of the 16th round of the tournament currently held in the United States of America.
Chelsea will face its Brazilian counterpart in the quarter -finals, on Friday 4 July.
The confrontation witnessed a long hiatus exceeding 110 minutes only five minutes before its end, due to bad weather.
Reyes James scored the goal of Chelsea in the 64th minute, while Angel de Maria equalized for Benfica from a penalty kick in the fifth minute of stoppage time (90+5), after resuming the game.
In the second additional half, Chelsea imposed his preference and scored 3 consecutive goals, by Christopher Niconko (D108), Pedro Nito (115), and Kernan Diosbury Hull (117).
Benfica has completed the meeting with 10 players since the 92nd minute, after his defender Gianluka Breztian was sent off for the second warning.
