Dubai University is looking at academic and scientific cooperation with Chinese universities

Dubai, July 7/ WAM/ His Excellency Dr. Issa Al -Bastaki, President of Dubai University, discussed during his visit to a number of Chinese universities, ways of academic and scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences in the areas of higher education and advanced research.
The visit included the universities of Beijing and Sikhwan, among the best hundred universities in the world, in addition to the University of Shanghai Jia Tong and the Beijing Institute of Technology.
During the visit, it was agreed with the universities of Sijuan and Beijing to study the launch of programs to grant dual scientific degrees to students of the bachelor’s degree, and to discuss mechanisms for granting dual degrees for doctoral programs in the field of business after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education in a way that enhances the status of scientific research and supports innovation and sustainable development.
The visit included the follow -up of the implementation of the previously signed memorandum of understanding with the Beijing Institute of Technology, and stipulated research cooperation and students exchange, and preparation is currently being prepared for the opening of an office for the institute at Dubai University after the approval of the competent authorities, allowing greater enhancement of cooperation in doctoral and master’s programs in addition to undergraduate programs.
Dr. Al -Bastaki stressed the importance of these academic partnerships and its role in enhancing scientific and technological cooperation between the two sides, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, noting that the UAE ranks third in the world in the design, development and application of artificial intelligence technologies after the United States of America and China.
