Dubai club tops the open category in the UAE Individual Chess Championship

Dubai, July 8 / WAM / Dubai Chess Club players continued their superiority in the open category competitions within the Emirates Chess Championship, which is organized by the Emirates Chess Federation in the Sharjah Cultural Hall, with the participation of 141 players and players from various clubs, and will continue until July 12.
The player Ahmed Farid, the full score with 4 points from 4 rounds, topped the open category ranking, while his teammate Khalifa Issa Al -Balushi ranked second with 3.5 points, while 8 players equal to third place with 3 points each.
In the women’s category, the lead was shared by Wafia Darwish Al -Maamari, the Al Ain Club player for chess and mental games, and Ahlam Rashid, Dubai Club player, with 3.5 points each after the fourth round.
Anoud Issa and her sister, Ahoud Issa, came from the chess and culture club for girls in Sharjah, Hanin Jamal from Dubai Club, and Zainab Al -Mamari from Al Ain Club, in third place with 3 points for each player.
The competitions of the Sunni groups witnessed a remarkable brilliance from the players of different clubs, as Mohamed Al -Muaini from Sharjah Cultural Club issued a category under 8 years for children with 5 points from 5 rounds, while Zayed Al Ali from Al Ain Club is issued by a category under 10 years for children with full score, followed by three players with 4 points.
In a category under 10 years of females, the players of chess and culture for girls in Sharjah imposed their control over the first three places, by Hafsa Issa with 4.5 points, and Maryam Khaled and Badria Mohamed with 4 points each.
Mira Al -Khatri from the Ras Al Khaimah Girls Club also topped an under 8 years of female, followed by Fatima Rashid from the chess and culture club for girls in Sharjah with 4 points.
