Urgent … Egypt and Russia expect a complementary contract to create and operate the Dabaa nuclear power plant
The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, and the Director General of the Russian Atomic Energy Energy Corporation & quot, signed Rosatom & quot; Alexei Lekhhatov, the complementary protocol of the agreement concluded between Egypt and Russia on cooperation in building and operating nuclear energy stations in Egypt.
The Ministry of Electricity – in a statement today – said that this comes within the framework of cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy and in light of the partnership and the work program and the time plan for the nuclear plant project in Dabaa and our commitment to the stages of implementing the national electricity generation project from energy Nuclear. And the Russian to accelerate the pace of the implementation of the nuclear plant project in Dabaa to generate electricity, according to the specified and approved timetable tables, within the framework of the Egyptian program for peaceful uses of atomic energy, and relying on clean energy as a basic pillar in achieving the goals of the national energy -speaking strategy until 2040.
Esmat said that cooperation and partnership between Egypt and Russia embodies the strong political will of the two countries The two friends, the depth of bilateral relations, and the mutual commitment to the implementation of this vital national project that represents a shift in the electricity and energy sector, explaining that the signing of the complementary protocol and the contractual attachment today represents an important step towards completing the Dabaa nuclear plant project in its various stages, and is a real reflection of fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Russia, to implement the national project in line with Egypt Energy Strategy 2040, which aims to achieve a balanced and sustainable mixture of energy sources, and enhance dependence on clean electricity.
