The launch of the UAE -German Business Council

Berlin, July 11 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al -Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology – witnessed the UAE Private Envoy to the Federal Republic of Germany, and His Excellency Katrina Reichh, Minister of Economic Affairs and German Energy, the launch of the UAE -German Business Council (GUBC), during an official ceremony held in the capital Berlin, with the participation of more than 150 personalities of business leaders and companies and in the presence of a group of senior officials And representatives of the business sector from the two countries within the activities of the working visit by Dr. Sultan Al -Jaber to Germany.

The formation of this council comes within the framework of strengthening the established economic relations, which extends for more than five decades of fruitful cooperation and mutual understanding, which contributes to opening new horizons for trade and investment between the two countries, and enhances the opportunities for sustainable growth in light of the global economic and geopolitical variables.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al -Jaber said: “In line with the vision of the rational leadership by building qualitative partnerships that contribute to achieving comprehensive progress, we are working to enhance the close historical relations that link the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany and raise it to new levels of fruitful cooperation. The official ceremony witnessed the signing of the document of the UAE Business Council, which was signed by the Emirati side Musabah Al-Kaabi, CEO of the Exploration, Development and Production Department in “ADNOC” and co-chair of the Business Council, and from the German side Gantter Ottinger, Prime Minister of Baden-Fortterburg, and former head of the Business Council.

Musabah Al -Kaabi said: “The UAE and Germany possesses a common and bold vision of global progress based on bilateral trade and common interests, and is led by innovations. There is no doubt that the UAE Business Council will accelerate the frequency of our partnership, support sustainable development and economic prosperity, and enhances close cooperation that reflects our common ambition in a rapidly changed world.”

During the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar”, the world leader in the field of clean energy, and “NPW -Energy Baden -Wortterberg”, one of the largest energy supply companies in Europe, with the aim of exploring opportunities for cooperation in energy storage batteries projects in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The two companies will also discuss the possibility of cooperation in marine wind energy projects in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, as well as green hydrogen and other renewable energy technologies.
