The increase in electricity consumption in China by 5.4% last June
Beijing on July 22 / WAM / Electricity consumption in China, a main measure of economic activity, witnessed steady growth last June; As official statements issued by the Chinese National Energy Authority showed yesterday, the volume of electricity use increased by 5.4% on an annual basis last June to reach 867 billion kilowatts.
Electricity consumption in the agricultural and industrial sectors in China increased last June, by 4.9% and 3.2% on an annual basis to 13.3 billion kilometers and 548.8 billion kilowatts, respectively, while consumption in the service sector increased by 9% on an annual basis to reach 175.8 billion kilowatts.
Last month, the total electricity consumption of Chinese residents reached 129.1 billion kilowatts, an increase of 10.8% on an annual basis.
During the period between January and June, the total electricity consumption in China increased by 3.7% on an annual basis to reach more than 4.84 trillion kilowatts.
In recent days, many regions of China have witnessed high temperatures, and electricity consumption recorded a record level on July 16, and the maximum national load reached 1.506 billion kilowatts, to exceed the threshold of 1.5 billion kilowatts for the first time.
