The rise in seasonal rains in Pakistan to 234

The Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan announced today that the number of deaths from the heavy seasonal rains that have been hitting the country since late June has risen to 234 people, in addition to 596 injured, describing the current season as “unusual.”
The local authorities stated that three people were killed, and 15 others were lost as a result of the landslide collapses in the province of Gilgit – Portestan, in northern Pakistan.
The police reported that the collapses werehed several tourist vehicles, while the rescue operations are continuing in search of missing persons amid the damage of dozens of homes, bridges and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Authority warned of the continued threat of floods and collapses in the northern and eastern regions of the country.
