13 million taxi users in Ajman during the first half

Ajman on July 23 / WAM / The Ajman Transport Authority recorded a remarkable increase in the number of taxi users during the first half of 2025, when the number of passengers reached 13,396,248 users, compared to 12,803,214 users during the same period of 2024, an increase of 4.63%.
The number of trips that were carried out through taxis during the first half of this year increased to 6,698,124 trips, compared to 6,401,608 flights during the first half of last year, with a similar increase of 4.63%.
Engineer Sami Ali Al -Jallaf, Executive Director of the General Transportation and Licensing Corporation at the Ajman Transport Authority, said that these numbers reflect the continuous growth in the transport sector in the Emirate of Ajman, and confirms the effectiveness of policies and operational plans implemented by the authority to meet the needs of the public and provide safe and effective transport services, pointing to the continued work to develop taxi services and improve user experience, by enhancing vehicle quality and raising the efficiency of drivers And the use of smart technologies to manage the fleet.
He added that the taxi vehicles in Ajman were equipped with smart tracking devices to ensure the accuracy of trips and the safety of users, as well as providing an integrated electronic payment system, as well as providing vehicles for senior citizens and people of determination, with the application of strict procedures for periodic maintenance and continuous sterilization.
He stressed that the services of taxi vehicles are not limited to transportation only, but are an important part of the infrastructure supporting the movement of individuals and the local economy, as it contributes to reducing dependence on private vehicles, which supports environmental sustainability efforts and reduces traffic congestion and carbon emissions, and also contributes to enabling different segments of society to reach their destinations safely and comfortably.
