17.6 thousand Afghan hosted by the UAE before leaving their final destinations

Abu Dhabi, July 24/ WAM/ the United Arab Emirates in a step that embodies its humanitarian commitment, and its urgent response at the time of crises, the UAE hosted 17,619 Afghan, who have been evacuated from Afghanistan since August 2021, before resettlement in third countries. This is in the context of cooperation with international partners to support the Afghan people in light of the exceptional circumstances that the country has gone through.
The “Humanitarian City of the Humanitarian” in Abu Dhabi received the Afghan citizens, where the state provided them with facilities and all high -quality services, before leaving to 21 final destinations. The total cost of hosting was 1.348 billion dirhams (367 million US dollars), which served as a comprehensive umbrella for temporary residence within conditions that guarantee their human dignity, and provide all their requirements, especially children, the elderly and women.
The UAE has also facilitated the evacuation of 41,000 Afghans and foreign nationals, who were residing in Afghanistan, in the belief of the state that the friendly countries, who asked the UAE to help evacuate its nationals from Afghanistan, in preparation for their transfer to their countries.
The hosting included all the supplies and needs of Afghan citizens, by providing health care, logistical and diplomatic services and communication operations, in addition to shelter and food, in a way that guarantees them comfort, a decent life and luxury, with material support that helps families stabilize their lives in the destinations they moved to.
In order to facilitate the procedures for leaving Afghan citizens to their final destinations, all services related to the departure procedures were provided within the “Humanitarian City of the Emirates”, where 17 offices were opened for the embassies of the countries concerned, a library of the American Immigration and Nationality Service Department, a library of the United Nations Immigration Agency, another for the American Customs and Protection Authority, in addition to two offices of international NGOs.
On the health aspect, the UAE has provided exceptional efforts to care for the residents of the UAE human city of Afghans and foreign nationals, especially in light of the Coveyd -19 crisis, by securing the necessary vaccines and preventive treatments, by providing 34,923 vaccines for all, with the participation of various medical teams of the same specialty, in conjunction with the provision of ideal health care for more than 303 new births, and performing more than 303 various surgeries in different Specializations, treatment of more than 3 cases outside the UAE, and providing more than 254572 medical services to the city’s residents, guaranteeing them integrated health care throughout their temporary stay.
Regarding the educational aspect and vocational training of Afghans residing in the city, the UAE has provided a school education for more than 3764 Afghans, and about 800 children were enrolled in educational nurseries, while securing school transportation and continuous follow -up to them, as well as the concerned authorities to organize more than 39 educational and educational training courses for the city’s residents, in addition to workshops in professional training and development that benefited 2589 A person from Afghan citizens.
The Humanitarian City of the Humanitarian, with its design, which takes into account privacy and meets the best standards of security and safety, the best daily services, for foreign Afghans and nationals, as it includes in its external squares a number of stadiums and entertainment means for children, women and the elderly, in addition to a preventive health center and providing all the means necessary for subsistence of medicine, food and other requirements necessary to reside that reflect the values and traditions of Emirati society.
The UAE has spared no effort to help the Afghan people, as it was at the forefront of the initiative countries to support Afghanistan, an expression of its humanitarian mission based on the values of giving and charitable work, spreading peace, consolidating coexistence, tolerance and principles of human brotherhood, as well as strengthening solidarity with peoples in the most difficult circumstances and situations that countries are exposed to in their crises.
The axis of interest in man and the preservation of his dignity represents a fixed approach in the march of the UAE since its foundation, without looking at any ethnic, religious or geographical backgrounds, in line with its noble human principles, until it has become a global symbol of human giving and sustainable good.
It is worth noting that the UAE is one of the largest donor countries for Afghanistan to help it due to the crisis it suffered, as it provided humanitarian and relief support during the past three years of 740 million dirhams, ensuring a relief air bridge by running aircraft loaded with hundreds of tons of relief and food, more than a million people, most of them children, the elderly and women, have benefited, as well as providing assistance
