Ikrom and Bosnia International Launching the International Summer School for Youth and Heritage at its 20th session

Sharjah on July 26 / WAM / The International Center for the Study of the Study of Cultural Property (ICROM) and its regional center in Sharjah and the Bosnia International Forum (IFB) launched the activities of the International Summer School for Youth and Heritage in its 20th session, which its activities continue from July 24 to August 9 in different locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Sarajevo, thesteros, and Stoyk.

Within the activities of the summer school, the Ikrum Center organizes a training course on risk management and documenting cultural heritage in times of crisis and aims to activities and training course to introduce young people to the importance of cultural heritage and its role in recovering societies and principles of preserving urban and building heritage and the Ikrum expert team holds training on disaster risk management with a focus on practical skills to document the building heritage and maps drawing.

Arona Francesca Maria Gogroral, Director General of Ikrom, stressed the importance of vital partnership with the Bosnia International Forum, noting the great influence of the training program on providing participants with the basic skills to preserve cultural heritage in times of crisis and beyond – an essential task for Ikrum.

She added: Our cooperation with the International Forum in Bosnia is embodied by what we believe – which is that the cultural heritage is not limited to the past, but it is the basis for recovery, rebuilding and building more comprehensive societies and the ability to withstand, especially in post -conflict contexts.

The opening included a reception and welcoming words from the deputy mayor of Sarajevo, Bruidraj Bouharich. The ceremony was also attended by Nasser Al -Darmaki, deputy director of the Ikrum Regional Center in Sharjah, along with professors and participants.

23 trainees and trainees from 13 different countries participate in this training course, forming a dynamic and diverse group of students and professionals. Ikrom participates in three of its experts and provides support for the participation of a number of participants from the Arab region that brings them together with a common vision of heritage role as a tool to build confidence and recover affected societies.

In addition to the basic lectures dealing with the concept of heritage and its role in Bosnia, especially after the difficult experience it fought at the end of the 20th century, the participants will inform many cultural heritage sites and museums. Students will also be able to use various digital heritage tools, including drawing, photography and laser scan And respond to disasters.

Umrah Haji Muhammadovic, director of the Cultural Heritage Center at the Bosnia International Forum, said: This session comes within the activities of the twentieth edition of the summer school organized by the Bosnia International Forum (IFB) annually, and this year we are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with the Ikrum organization, which contributes to improving the experience of participants significantly through taking into account the diversity of their academic backgrounds and geographical sites.

And she added: The social and cultural scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is known as a complex history of conflict and recovery, is a basic background for this training.

It is noteworthy that the International Summer School for Youth and Heritage, Khay, is a unique international educational initiative that enables young professionals (between the ages of 20 and 35 years) to interact with heritage as a tool for recovery, flexibility and dialogue between cultures was established in Stok and grew to become a platform that combines practical training in theoretical restoration, theoretical education and cultural exchange that brings together participants from more than 40 countries.
