Cyber Security Council and the Ministry of Defense enhances cooperation to develop cybersecurity governance

Abu Dhabi, July 29 / WAM / The Cyber Security Council and the Ministry of Defense announced the continued strengthening of strategic cooperation to develop cybersecurity governance, pay innovation and enhance digital flexibility, in line with the UAE’s vision and its firm commitment to enhancing cyberspace as a basic pillar of national security.

The Cyber Security Council and the Ministry of Defense discussed the mechanisms of unifying efforts to strengthen the cybersecurity system in the country, stressing the decisive role of close cooperation in protecting the vital digital infrastructure of the state.

This cooperation constitutes an extension of the established partnership between the Cyber Security Council and the Ministry of Defense, which was manifested in several prominent forums such as the Gulf Cyber Security Forum 2024, the Spring Summit 2024 and the “IDEX and Nafdex 2025” exhibitions.

These activities reflect the proactive approach that the UAE adopts in enhancing cyber flexibility, developing innovation and ensuring a safe digital future.

The Ministry of Defense and the Cyber Security Council affirmed their firm commitment to national cybersecurity, stressing the pivotal role of the National Security Strategy for Cyber Security in protecting the digital scene of the state.

With the guidance of the rational leadership, the Ministry of Defense is full of commitment to this strategy and its principles are integrated into the military doctrine of the armed forces of the UAE.

This strategic cooperation confirms the unified approach to the state in the field of cybersecurity, which enhances the UAE’s position as a leading country in the field of flexibility and cyber defense.

The Cyber Defense Directorate in the Ministry of Defense also participates in the awareness sessions, cyber exercises and events organized by the Cyber Security Council.

During a meeting, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al -Kuwaiti, head of the cybersecurity of the government of the UAE and Mr. Ali Muhammad Al -Saridi, Director of the Cyber Defense Directorate in the Ministry of Defense .. The two sides pointed to the importance of the cybersecurity that took place within the activities of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference “IDEX 2025”, which witnessed the participation of 22 trainees, all of them from the defense and military sector, and most of them represent the Ministry of Defense.

The exercise simulated a cyber attack with ransom software of the continuous advanced threat “APT”, embodying a realistic scenario of a cyber attack that could disrupt the vital infrastructure. The cyber military exercise is part of a series of broader cyber exercises developed by the Cyber Security Council and embodies the pioneering role of the Ministry of Defense in implementing such initiatives. It also formed a decisive platform to enhance the capabilities of national defense and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and raise cybersecurity in the military and strategic sectors.
