The UAE sends hope in the Gaza Strip and breaks the siege of food and water from its residents

The UAE continues its efforts to alleviate the suffering of hunger and thirst that has been subjected to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip for about a year and a half, by communicating the largest possible amount of food aid to the sector in various land, air and sea roads, as well as sustainable initiatives in this field such as providing automatic bakeries and the establishment of field kitchens, in addition to implementing a number of projects aimed at securing fresh drinking water For locals.

These efforts come in light of the sharp exacerbation of the food and water crisis recently in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian medical sources said, the day before yesterday that 147 people, including 88 children, were killed due to malnutrition, while recent data issued by the World Food Program and the United Nations UNESEF program showed that more than one of every three people “39%” spend continuous days without food and suffer more than 500 thousand people , That is, nearly a quarter of the population of Gaza, from famine -like conditions, while the rest of the population faces emergency levels of hunger.

Despite the cruelty of the scene inside the Gaza Strip due to the suffering of hunger and thirst, things would have become more tragic without the Emirati support that had not been cut off from the Palestinian brothers since the launch of the “Al -Faris 3 operation”, as international reports confirm that Emirati aid constituted 44% of the total international aid to Gaza until now.

On the level of food aid .. The UAE succeeded in communicating tens of thousands of tons of food to the residents of the Gaza Strip, whether through the caravans that entered the sector from the wild crossings, or through air projection operations through the process of “birds of goodness, or across the sea, by sending a number of aid ships, the last of which was the Khalifa ship, whose total load reached 7166 tons, including 4372 tons of food.

The UAE has confronted by all possible means of the crisis resulting from the acute shortage of bread that was on the horizon early after the outbreak of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, where in February 2024 it sent a number of automatic bakeries into the sector, as well as providing flour and other requirements to operate more than 21 field bakeries to produce bread daily.

The UAE contributed to the operation of a number of field kitchens, in addition to more than 50 charitable measures that provide hot meals daily to families affected in the Gaza Strip.

During the month of Ramadan, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority implemented the fasting breakfast programs in the Gaza Strip, which included distributing 13 million breakfasts during the holy month, and providing the needs of 44 cakes throughout the month that benefited more than two million people, in addition to providing the needs of 17 bakery that serve 3 million and 120 thousand people.

In parallel, the UAE moved quickly to confront the thirst crisis, which threatens the lives of more than two million Palestinians in Gaza, especially after the heavy damage to water pumping stations and distribution networks as a result of the war.

And the UAE, a few days after the launch of the “Al -Faris 3 operation”, the establishment of 6 desalination stations producing two million gallons per day, which are pumped into the Gaza Strip and more than 600 thousand people benefit from it.
And the UAE “Al -Shahham 3” operation announced on July 15th, the start of the implementation of a humanitarian project to supply desalinated water from the Egyptian side to the southern Gaza Strip, through a new vector line that is the largest of its kind, within the framework of urgent interventions to treat the water disaster that ravages the besieged sector.

The project includes the construction of a 315 mm carrier and 6.7 km, linking the desalination plant established by the UAE on the Egyptian side, and the displacement area located between the Khan Yunis and Rafah governorates.
The project aims to serve about 600,000 people from the affected population, by providing 15 liters of desalinated water per person per day, in light of the destruction of more than 80% of water facilities due to difficult events in the Gaza Strip.

The UAE has also launched a set of projects to implement dug and maintenance of drinking water wells in the Gaza Strip, and has implemented a group of sanitation network maintenance projects in a number of regions, in addition to sending them to dozens of tanks designated for fresh water transport.
