King Saud Medical City, a member of the first Riyadh Health Assembly, announced the implementation of more than 105,000 medical rehabilitation sessions during the first half of the year 2025 AD, in a move that reflects its commitment to providing integrated rehabilitation services that contribute to improving the quality of patients ’life, and establishes its position as one of the leading centers in this field at the Kingdom level. Patients transformed from various medical specialties such as orthopedic surgery, Nerves , burns, injuries, interior, and pediatrics, offering comprehensive rehabilitation programs under the supervision of multidisciplinary teams.
Electrical muscle stimulation
quality services were created that included electrical muscle stimulation of cases Stroke and swallowing difficulties, and the evaluation of a swallowing endoscopy, as well as the launch of the intensive rehabilitation clinic for patients with stroke, which provide integrated treatment programs for three hours in one session, and contributed to converting 68% of the inpatient patients to this program and achieving a significant improvement in their functional ability during a short period of time. Yasser Al -Thebaiti, that the center managed to cancel the waiting lists in all its sections, including the prosthesis section, where patients are currently getting the service immediately. The center also achieved several achievements during the first half of 2025 AD, including the delivery of 47 industrial parties with a compliance rate of 100% to the Ministry of Health index (delivery within 14 days), and the provision of upper and lower cosmetic parties to the amputated, in addition to the introduction of 3D printing technology for the mounting industry and the delivery of 330 medical mattresses within 30 minutes instead of three days previously. /> The developments also included the operation of the electromagnetic chair for Women’s health, and providing specialized evaluation joints for paralysis cases in children, and providing early qualifying service to 62 patients in intensive care. Al -Thubaiti that the physiotherapy department carried out more than 48,466 treatment sessions, while the number of job therapy sessions reached about 12,270 sessions, more than 17,962 treatment visits were registered using rehabilitation techniques, in addition to 11,027 sessions in natural medicine, 8,447 sessions to treat communication disorders, and 7,307 sessions to treat swallowing disorders.
