The Emirates celebrates tomorrow with "International Youth Day"

Abu Dhabi, August 11/ WAM/ The UAE will celebrate tomorrow, Tuesday, the International Youth Day, in conjunction with the huge jumps achieved by the path of empowering young people, qualifying them and investing their energies in the country, which is embodied by their escalating presence in decision -making centers, and their active participation in the comprehensive development process.
The International Youth Day 2025 highlights the unique role played by young people in transforming global aspirations in achieving sustainable development goals into a vibrant societal reality, through their creations and energies that are indispensable in this path.
The occasion comes as the UAE continues to achieve the outcomes of the national youth agenda until the year 2031, which aims to be the Emirati youth, the most prominent model locally and globally in thought, values, and effective contribution to economic, social development and national responsibility.
The UAE continues its efforts in empowering young people, developing their capabilities and qualifying them to hold responsibility, as the current year witnessed the launch of the “Emirates Youth Council for Entrepreneurship” with the aim of activating the role of youth in promoting economic development, competitive national entrepreneurship, and launching the “Young Financial Advisers” program to rehabilitate and prepare Emirati youth as accredited financial advisors, able to provide effective financial education that contributes to raising the quality of financial decisions and stimulating savings and investment.
The UAE adopted the first youth area in “Madar 39” in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and it also adopted the first youth area in the Emirate of Fujairah in the first government agency at the state level, within the framework of the “Youth Spaces” initiative within the first package of initiatives and projects of the National Youth Agency 2031.
The year 2025 witnessed the launch of the Emirates Youth Council for Humanitarian Action by the International Humanitarian Council in cooperation with the Federal Youth Foundation, with the aim of enabling young people to contribute effectively to achieving the sustainable international development goals.
The UAE hosted the activities of the Arab meeting of the young leaders in its fourth edition, which was held within the activities of the World Summit of Governments 2025, where the meeting discussed the proposals for converting the challenges of the Arab region into opportunities by upholding the voice of youth, involving them in decision -making and preparing policies, and exchanging experiences and practices that suit Arab societies.
During the past years, the UAE has succeeded in activating the participation of youth and enhancing the spirit of leadership they have through a set of steps, foremost of which is the approval of the Council of Ministers in 2016, the establishment of the Emirates Youth Council, and the establishment of the Federal Youth Foundation that coordinates with local youth councils to develop an annual agenda for youth activities and events in the country.
The UAE launched the national youth strategy that is based on 5 main transformations that young people are going through during the period of 15 to 35 years to include the stages of education, work, a healthy and safe lifestyle, start the formation of a family, and end with citizenship and national action.
In 2019, the Council of Ministers issued a decision mandatory to involve members of the Emirati youth category in the boards of directors of government agencies, institutions and companies, as it launched in April 2022 the “National Youth Survey”, which aims to measure the level of social, political, economic and cultural maturity for youth in the country, in addition to collecting data related to the youth category in various sectors of the state, and placing it within the reach of decision makers, those who are researchers.
The year 2023 witnessed the launch of the “World Youth Initiative”, which is supervised by the “Federal Youth Foundation”, with the aim of strengthening the role of youth globally in introducing the values of the authentic UAE, its culture and its civilizational experience in tolerance and coexistence.
The UAE is a president of the aspirations and ambition of Arab youth. In 2017, the UAE announced the Arab Youth Center, which represents a regional youth center in the country and helps to develop the capabilities of youth and supports innovation and creativity in the Arab world.
The center launched many strategic initiatives and projects that are being implemented by young people, and its impact is followed in various countries, including the “Arab Youth Hackathon” initiative, the “Arab Youth Projects Market” initiative, the “youth solutions” initiative, and the young Arab diplomatic leadership program.
In 2018, the UAE launched the digital platform “Arab Youth Opportunities” to represent a reference for all the qualitative opportunities that are available to Arab youth across the Arab world from tuition missions and development and training programs, and in July 2020 launched the “Arab Space Gates” program, which is supervised by the Emirates Space Agency with the aim of embracing and sponsoring a distinguished scientific elite of Arab genius, talents and scientific competencies of youth and women of the Arab world, to prepare and train them In the field of space science and its techniques.
