Abu Dhabi, August 11/ WAM/ The artificial intelligence sector in Abu Dhabi is witnessing an accelerated growth that reflects the transformation of the emirate into a global center for innovation and technical development, where the data of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry revealed that the number of companies specialized in artificial intelligence has reached 673 companies, registering an annual increase of 61% compared to the period between June 2023 and June 2024.

The number of companies specialized in artificial intelligence globally was estimated at 90,904 companies until 2024, which highlights the position of Abu Dhabi as a prominent position within this accelerated scene.

Indicators show that Abu Dhabi is the fastest growth centers in the field of artificial intelligence in the Middle East and North Africa, and its location is established a leading global destination in innovation and research projects based on artificial intelligence.

Abu Dhabi establishes its position as a global position in adopting artificial intelligence across the strategic sectors, by setting international standards supported by a system of leading institutions and bodies, and this system includes the Council of Artificial Intelligence and advanced technology, which is the formulation of policies and strategies related to scientific research, developing infrastructure, and enhancing investments in the areas of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

The system includes the Advanced Technology Research Council, the Institute of Technology Innovation, the AI71 Applied Solutions, the global technology system in Abu Dhabi “Hub71”, the G42 Technology Group, and the Space 42 Space Technology, which reflects the integration of efforts towards building a knowledge economy based on innovation and future technologies.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that more than 58% of the artificial intelligence companies in the emirate focus their activities on innovation, research and consulting, highlighting an advanced business environment based on knowledge and scientific research, and 150 new companies were established in the field of artificial intelligence, driven by strategic investments, during the first half of this year, and the availability of advanced infrastructure, along with the increasing demand from different The vital sectors in Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency Shams Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, stressed that the artificial intelligence sector in the emirate is witnessing an accelerated transformation from the early adoption phase to the stage of maturity and actual institutional application, with the increasing activities based on scientific research, strategic consultations, and advanced institutional solutions.

He pointed out that this growth is not only measured by numbers, but also embodies a vibrant society that includes a group of entrepreneurs, scientists and international leaders who see in Abu Dhabi an ideal environment for launching ambitious technological projects.

He emphasized the leadership of the artificial intelligence system in Abu Dhabi, which reflects the strength of the partnership between the government and the business sector, the complementarity between global experiences and emerging talents, and the effective link between scientific research and industry, explaining that the Chamber plays a pivotal role in strengthening these ties, and creating a supportive environment for innovation, to be a fixed standard and not an exception.

The new strategic road map for the Abu Dhabi Trade and Industry Chamber for the period 2025-2028; An essential axis in pushing the economic transformation, focusing on enhancing the ease of business, developing supporting policies, and enhancing the integration of the economic system.
