Artificial intelligence in railway maintenance … Dubai Operating Innovation Model

Dubai, August 17/ WAM/ The ARIIS Infrastructure Infrastructure System (ARIIS), which is applied by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, is a practical model for employing the latest artificial intelligence technologies in the transport sector, with the aim of upgrading the efficiency of operational maintenance and enhancing safety levels, while reducing dependence on traditional tests that drained time and resources.
The system provides the possibility of applying pre -emptive maintenance strategies thanks to advanced diagnostic techniques, which contributes to prolonging the life of the infrastructure and reducing periodic maintenance costs by up to 25%, and immediate data analyzes also provide accurate and studied decisions in maintenance, which enhances the efficiency of resource management by 40% and limits unnecessary interventions.
The system has succeeded since its implementation in reducing the period of periodic examination by 75%, equivalent to the abbreviation of about 1,700 human working hours, and reducing the traditional examinations by up to 70%, while raising the ability to assess the state of infrastructure by 40%, and these indicators were reflected to accelerate maintenance procedures, and contributed to reducing emergency interventions, in addition to improving the reliability of the metro network.
The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai indicated that the activation of the system is currently taking place in some areas of the metro lines, with a comprehensive plan to circulate it to all paths after the success of the technical and operational evaluation.
The authority revealed that it is studying the possibility of circulating ARIIS technologies or similar techniques on other transportation such as tram, according to the nature of its infrastructure and operating needs.
The system collects comprehensive data that includes the state of railways, cracks, corrosion, and deviations, and are analyzed using artificial intelligence algorithms to make data -based maintenance decisions, supporting the concept of “predictive maintenance”, enhances the sustainability of infrastructure and prolongs the age of infrastructure.
All examination work is implemented according to the highest professional safety standards, in coordination with the control room, and at deliberate times within the night maintenance period, with the aim of reducing the effect on operating the metro and transporting passengers, and thanks to smart technology, the tests have become faster and accurate, without the need to suspend or delay services.
