Rashid Al Shamsi raises the UAE flag on the highest summit in Europe
Abu Dhabi, August 18/ WAM/ Emirati adventurer Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi succeeded in raising the flag of the United Arab Emirates at the top of Mount Elbros, the highest point in the continent of Europe with a height of 5.642 meters above sea level, denying an arduous journey that he fought amid snowstorms and strong winds in the heart of the Russian Caucasus mountain range, and in a scene that summarizes the meaning of determination and belonging.
This achievement is part of an ambitious climbing journey targeting the reach of the summit of Kazak and Albros, but the violent weather fluctuations prevented the completion of the rise of Kazak, while Al -Shamsi continued to challenge to take the summit of Elbros in very cold climatic conditions and rugged terrain that required maximum endurance and insistence.
Al -Shamsi said, after raising the UAE flag, that every step was a struggle with cold and exhaustion, but the dream was stronger than all difficulties, and this achievement was presented to the UAE country, and for all who believe that the will makes the impossible.
He added that this experience was a deep journey that revealed to me the meanings of true patience, mental discipline, and the importance of solidarity and work in the spirit of the team. At every moment of ascending, I had to balance between physical challenges and the pressure of nature, and between the inner belief that reaching not only to the geographical top, but to the height of persistence and will, and it was an experience that formed me from the inside, and left an impact that would not be hidden.
