Dubai World Ports fall into a partnership with Japanese “Etosho” to promote logistical services in Africa

Dubai Ports World Group “DPDDRED” has signed a memorandum of understanding with Itooso, one of the largest commercial companies in Japan, to expand the logistics and infrastructure package of supply chains and distribution capabilities in sub -Saharan Africa.

The agreement was signed during the Tokyo International Development Conference in Africa held in Yokohama, Japan, by Beit Simon, CEO of logistical operations at the Dubai World Ports Group, and senior executives at Itooso.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties will explore the chances of promoting commercial linking and reaching markets in Africa, and supporting Japanese companies that seek to consolidate or enhance their presence on the continent. Initial discussions focus on fleet and logistical services, improving supply chains, and distributing goods and food products.

“DBDDRDD” operates in more than 48 countries on the African continent through a wide network of ports, stations and logistical assets, from warehouses to trucks. More than 3 billion US dollars have invested in developing infrastructure, with plans to invest another $ 3 billion over the next five years. These investments aim to advance economic growth and enhance African -African trade, in addition to improving the connection of African markets with global supply chains.

Itooso is based on the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and has its own experience in the field of basic commodity, wholesale and consumer goods in Africa. Its varying wallets cover the sectors of textiles, machinery, energy, chemicals, food and public consumer goods, giving them a solid basis to support Japanese companies wishing to expand in Africa.

“Africa represents one of the most dynamic growth fronts in world trade. Cooperation with Itooso reflects a common vision to achieve added value by combining our experiences in infrastructure, logistical services and Itooso commercial experiences to build deeper ties between Africa and Japan,” said Beit Simon, CEO of Logistics Operations at the DP World Ports Group.

“We hope this cooperation will contribute to strengthening projects between the two parties, in addition to building bridges of communication between Japanese companies wishing to expand African markets.

The Memorandum of Understanding represents the beginning of a deeper partnership between the Dubai World Ports Group and Itooso, aimed at strengthening supply chains and supporting sustainable growth in Africa.
