The UAE receives the presidency of the Executive Council of the Arab Education Office for the Gulf States

Abu Dhabi, August 21 / WAM / The UAE assumed the presidency of the Executive Council of the Arab Education Office for the Gulf countries, which extends for two years “2025 and 2026”.
The announcement of this came during the meeting of the ninety -fourth session of the Council, which was held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al Muqbel, Director General of the Arab Education Office for the Gulf States, members of the Executive Council, and agents of the ministries of education in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Republic of Yemen.
The meeting was opened by His Excellency Eng. Muhammad Al -Qasim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, in his capacity as the president of the current session of the Council, where he started his speech by welcoming the participating delegations, expressing his appreciation for their attendance and their contribution to supporting the joint Gulf work process.
His Excellency also thanked His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al -Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the sisterly State of Qatar, the head of the previous session of the Council, appreciating his estimated efforts and continuous follow -up to the activities, initiatives and programs that witnessed the last session of the office’s work.
He also praised the efforts of the centers affiliated with the office and its vital role in implementing the agenda and programs of work and achieving its goals.
He expressed great gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al -Asimi, former Director General of the Arab Education Office for the Gulf States, for his appreciation efforts and leading initiatives that contributed to strengthening the career of the office and his Gulf educational presence, and also welcomed His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al Muqbel, the new general manager of the office, wishing him success in leading the office towards more excellence and achievement.
His Excellency stressed during his speech that the current session will represent a new start to enhance Gulf cooperation in the fields of education, and to continue the integration process, which has resulted in qualitative achievements and leading initiatives, which made education in the GCC states a model to follow regional and internationally.
He stressed the necessity of consolidating the axes of the joint Gulf vision in the educational field to be able to formulate the future of education in the region, in order to influence and active participation in drawing global educational policies.
His Excellency added that the UAE will work during its presidency of the Council to enhance the joint Gulf identity and values, support efforts that achieve educational integration and exchange of experiences, and redefine the concept of quality of education, as well as launching innovative initiatives that support educational systems, and enhance the process of educational decision -making according to the foundations based on flexibility, pre -eminence and readiness.
In his speech at the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al Muqbel thanked the owners of His Majesty, His Highness and Luxury, the leaders of the member states for their permanent care of the office.
His Excellency praised the efforts made by the State of Qatar during its chairmanship of the Council, which contributed to promoting the joint Gulf educational work, wishing the presidency of the session (2025-2026) from the UAE success in continuing the march of Gulf educational work.
His Excellency said that the holders of the Excellencies, the ministers of education, and in the context of implementing the decision of the Ministers Committee at its eighth meeting in Doha in June 2024, the office was assigned to prepare a comprehensive study to reformulate its strategy; In line with the developments of education, and enhances the position of the GCC states in global indicators, as well as evaluating its centers and restructuring them in line with modern trends. The resolution of the ninth meeting of the committee that was held in Kuwait in May 2025 AD stipulated the development of the strategy by adding cultural, professional and technical dimensions.
The meeting agenda included discussing the notes on the agenda, in addition to approving the table and discussing its provisions, and the meeting also included a presentation of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences on promoting the quality of education in the countries of the Cooperation Council and the institution’s initiatives that support this. The work of the meeting concluded with a workshop in which the agents of the ministries of education in member states participated, and focused mainly on the future strategic directions of the Arab Education Office for the Gulf States.
The UAE, through its presidency of this course, affirms its firm commitment to supporting joint Gulf work, unifying educational visions, and enhancing the status of education as a basic pillar to achieve sustainable development in the region.
