Various activities on the second day of "Abu Dhabi Hunting and Equestrian"

Abu Dhabi, August 31 / WAM / The second day of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Show witnessed various activities that attracted a mass attendance, amid a vibrant atmosphere of heritage and adventure.
The sixth auction of hawks was held in the exhibition, with the participation of a group of the most prominent hawks farms that presented distinguished birds in the “race” and “beauty” categories, amid widespread interest from falconers.
Electronic hawks auctions continue throughout the exhibition period through a sophisticated digital platform, as well as organizing direct auctions for living falcons on September 6 and 7, as part of activities that combine heritage and innovation.
The exhibition hosted the International Dogs Championship, with the participation of a wide range of breeds distributed over five main categories.
The launch of the second edition of the “Replacement” initiative was the most prominent events of the second day, as the Arms and Dangerous Materials Office announced the opening of the door to replace automatic weapons with modern hunting weapons for free for Emirati citizens, from August 30 to November 30, 2025.
The initiative comes in cooperation with a group of leading national companies in the weapons sector, including Caracal Global, Penuna for the Trade of Military Equipment and Fishing, and our residence to trade firearms, and in full coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
It aims to enhance the culture of safe and responsible shooting, and to expand citizens’ options by providing a variety of modern weapons, as well as encouraging them to participate in the Emirates Shooting Championship with licensed firearms, and applications are submitted electronically via a dedicated platform to ensure easy access and speed of procedures.
The “Al -Muqnas” event presented an innovative Emirati experience that moved visitors to the heart of the desert, as part of the initiative of the Hunting and Reserves Affairs Program.
The knowledge platform witnessed a series of educational sessions, the most prominent of which was a lecture presented by Dr. Mounir Ferrani, CEO of the Mohammed bin Zayed Fund for the Protection of Birds, in which the Fund’s efforts to protect these endangered birds were addressed through various international projects.
The Jin -Godal Institute organized an interactive competition for children that included questions about wildlife and scientific research, with the aim of enhancing environmental awareness of the new generation.
Major Fatima Al -Darmaki, from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, gave an awareness lecture within the “safe atmosphere” initiative, which dealt with the regulation of the operation of the entertainment drones in the country, which included registration and operation laws, the permitted age groups, and the updated map of the permitted areas.
Afra Khalifa, a coach specialized in falconry, held a heritage workshop that brought together the art of falconry and the support of the Emirati councils.
Mohamed Ismail, head of the visual astronomy department at Al -Sadim Astronomy Center, presented a presentation entitled “Guidance lights”, in which he dealt with the role of astronomical navigation in the region.
The exhibition continues until September 7, 2025 at the Denik Abu Dhabi Center, with educational sessions at the Knowledge Center, as well as live cultural offers in the main square, with the wide participation of local and international exhibitors through 15 specialized sectors.
