Dubai International .. The largest axis of air transport globally with 10.2 million seats in September

Dubai International Airport, during September, has registered more than 5.1 million seats scheduled for international flights (about 10.2 million in both directions), topping the world’s airports, according to the periodic report issued by the International OAG Foundation equipped for airport data and airlines.
Dubai International continued to achieve strong gains compared to the levels of last year, and the seat capacity at the airport increased by 4% during September, compared to the same period in 2024, and in total the capacity increased by about 5% since the beginning of this year compared to the same period last year.
The Foundation said in a report, “Emirates Today” received a copy of it, that “Dubai International Airport retained its position as the largest axis of air transport in the world in September 2025.”
This increase in the seat capacity at Dubai International Airport comes with the airport attracting new airlines, opening more destinations, as well as operating additional flights to existing destinations, after he recorded a strong international traffic performance over the year 2024 and the first half of this year.
Internationally, Heathro London Airport ranked second with about 4.1 million seats, with a difference of about one million seats with leaders Dubai International, followed by Amsterdam Airport with 3.6 million seats, and Istanbul in fourth place with about 3.5 million seats, and Seoul International Airport came fifth with about 3.4 million seats.
Dubai International Airport continued its strong performance, to be ranked second in the world in the total seat capacity on “international and local” flights together, and with a small difference after the American Hartfield Atlanta airport, which recorded about 5.19 million seats during September, while “Tokyo Hanida” airport came in third place with about 4.6 million seats, Istanbul fourth with about 4.47 million seats, and Chicago in fifth place About 4.4 million seats.
Dubai International Airport achieved a record performance during the first half of 2025 by receiving about 46 million passengers, to record the highest rate of movement of passengers during the first half throughout its date. Dubai International Airport is currently connected to more than 269 destinations in more than 107 countries around the world, through a network of more than 92 international air carriers, which promotes Dubai’s position as a global center for aviation, trade, tourism and investment.
