Al Murar: Israel’s annexation of the West Bank or any part of the occupied Palestinian territories is a red line

Cairo, September 4/ WAM/ His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al -Murar, Minister of State said that “the inclusion of Israel in the West Bank or any part of the occupied Palestinian territories is a red line, and that taking such a measure will lead to the undermining of regional security,” stressing that the UAE adheres to its steadfast position in support of protecting Palestinian rights and the two -state solution as the only way to achieve a fair and comprehensive peace.

His Excellency said, in a joint press conference with His Excellency Ahmed Abul -Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, after the conclusion of the current 164th session of the Arab Foreign Ministers Council, headed by the Emirates, that the meetings witnessed extensive discussions that led to a full consensus between the ministers and heads of delegations regarding all the items on the agenda, foremost of which is the stop of the extermination war launched by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and rejected any Israeli attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue Through displacement or annexation of the occupied lands.

His Excellency added that the UAE continues to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and continues in the context of its relations with the sisterly Arab countries in order to find a solution that guarantees the cessation of the war and a return to stability in the sector and the political and humanitarian arrangements that follow.

For his part, Ahmed Aboul Gheit emphasized that the Arab ministers agreed to move in two main directions during the next stage, which are to seek to stop the extermination war immediately, and to preserve the independent Palestinian state project as the essence of the issue and the key to achieving peace.

Aboul Gheit pointed out that Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia submitted a joint decision on “Arab cooperation in the Middle East”, which was adopted unanimously, and reflects the unified Arab position rejecting any prejudice to the sovereignty of Arab countries, and adherence to the two -state solution a single framework to end the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, in addition to calling for an international conference to implement the two -state solution and increase international recognition in the state of Palestine.

Regarding the decision of the American administration not to grant the delegation of the State of Palestine visas to attend the meetings of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Aboul Gheit explained that the Arab ministers called on Washington to review its decision, stressing that individual and group diplomatic contacts will take place with the American side during the coming period to persuade it to retract this position.
