Syria – The Special Envoy meets the Foreign Minister, and confirms the support of the country’s sovereignty

According to a statement issued by the envoy’s office, the two sides discussed the situation in As -Suwayda and the northeast in detail, as well as the situation in the Sahel region.

The Special Envoy affirmed the full support of the United Nations for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for an end to Israeli violations, to address internal issues in Syria through dialogue and make sincere efforts to build confidence.

Pederson affirmed the United Nations support for the Syrian government and the people in their endeavor to achieve internal peace and stability through a comprehensive, transparent and reliable political transition, in line with the basic principles. Security Council Resolution 2254 of 2015.
