Zaki Nusseibeh confirms the commitment of the Emirates University to academic excellence

Al Ain, September 11/ WAM/ His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, affirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence, students’ superiority and strategic progress in line with the national priorities of the UAE.
This came during the meeting of the University Board of Trustees for the academic year 2025 – 2026, which was held on the campus in Al Ain, and the Council discussed the adoption of the university’s strategy for the years 2027-2029, as it was designed in line with national strategies 2031, with a vision, renewed message, national values and strategic goals that were developed after extensive consultations with stakeholders.
During the meeting, the university’s progress was reviewed in the global academic classification of universities “Shanghai” for the year 2025, as it advanced 100 ranks to become among the category 701-800 globally, and ranked second at the state level.
The university has also achieved prominent specialized achievements by entering the list of the best 150 universities in the world in the field of water resources and the best 200 universities in agricultural and financial sciences, thanks to its highly influential research outputs.
The Council also discussed strengthening academic leadership and attracting competencies, through new appointments in colleges and attracting new faculty members to keep pace with the increase in the number of students and the growing research activities.
The meeting witnessed the announcement of new strategic partnerships that contribute to supporting the indicators of the sustainable development goals, as well as following up the preparations to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Emirates University, whose activities start on November 10, 2025, embodying fifty years of contributions in the fields of education, scientific research and community service.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh expressed his gratitude to the members of the Council for their support for the strategic goals of the university, stressing their vital role in drawing its future.
