The integrated transportation center oversees the experience of delivering parcel drones in Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Center, affiliated with the Municipalities and Transport Department, announced its supervision of a leading experience to connect parcels using drones (Dron) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the company “Lod Autonomos” specializing in smart delivery solutions and independent air logistics technologies.
Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al -Ghafli, Acting Director General of the Acting Transport Center, visited the company’s headquarters in Kizad – Abu Dhabi, where he reviewed the latest smart transport solutions, and witnessed the implementation of a successful experimental flight during which a plane equipped with an automatic arm was transported from the Al -Samah area to Kizad, relying on an advanced navigation system that guarantees high accuracy and efficiency in delivery operations.
Within the strategy of the Smart Systems Council aimed at consolidating the position of Abu Dhabi as a pioneering center in the field of smart transport, this experience comes as an extension of the efforts of the integrated transportation center in adopting the latest transportation systems that contribute to raising the efficiency of services, consolidating the elements of sustainable infrastructure and improving the quality of life in the emirate.
The center works to organize and manage drones operations via the unified national platform “to manage the movement of drones”, ensuring the acceleration of obtaining the necessary approvals and adhering to laws, safety and privacy standards and the protection of the airspace.
Dr. Al -Ghafli praised the success of the experiment, saying: “The use of drones for delivery reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to adopting the latest global innovations in transportation and logistical services, and the employment of technology to raise the quality of services. We at the integrated transportation center are keen to support such qualitative initiatives that contribute to building a smart and sustainable transport system, and establishes Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination.”
Lod also reviewed by Dr. Al -Ghafli the latest developments in the Self -driving hybrid development program for heavy air freight.
The plane is characterized by its ability to transport a load of up to 250 kg for a distance of 300 km, depending on an innovative system that combines electrical engines and the internal combustion engine, with the quotation and vertical landing feature that enables it to work without the need for a traditional infrastructure such as airports.
Haley is expected to constitute a qualitative shift in the field of medium -range air freight, by providing direct links between logistical service centers, in order to enhance the efficiency of supply chains and support the growth of the logistical services sector in the region.
For his part, Rashid Matar Al Mannai, CEO of Lod Autonomos said: “The system of air delivery using drones contributes to raising the efficiency and speed of transportation and distribution services, in a way that meets the requirements of supply chains and logistical services, in light of the accelerated growth of e -commerce and competition towards more speedy and effective delivery solutions, indicating that drones allow the possibility of communication Parts within a few hours, compared to several days in traditional connection. “
This experience comes within the framework of a comprehensive strategic plan to expand the use of drones in Abu Dhabi, and to consolidate its role in developing the future of logistics and smart transportation, which opens new horizons for advanced delivery networks.
