The most dangerous “artificial intelligence” attacks on the digital services system

Cyber crimes are rapidly increasing with the expansion of the use of the Internet and digital platforms, which reflects a growth in the size of digital threats that target individuals and institutions alike.
According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, the scene leads financial fraud crimes, electronic blackmail, accounting of accounts, and insulting using information technology.
Experts in information security at the Ras Al Khaimah Police warned of the escalation of cyber attacks supported by artificial intelligence, assuring Emirates Today that it represents the most dangerous challenge for government services and digital transformation projects, because of the serious repercussions that include disrupting services, delaying transactions and leaking sensitive data, as well as publishing misleading information that threatens the confidence of customers and opens the door to find a digital gap between society and the state.
The Director of the Department of Electronic Services and Communication at the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, Brigadier Dr. Mohamed Abdel -Rahman Al -Ahmad, stressed that technical devices are not exposed to driving to any electronic or cyber attacks, explaining that the administration follows accurate operational procedures and daily maintenance of digital infrastructure through specialized teams, as well as support and maintenance contracts with technical companies to ensure the continuity of work around the clock.
Al -Ahmad said that the anti -virus and information espionage systems constitute the first defense line in observing networks, and discovering the sources of threats and potential gaps, through the constant alert of the need to make security updates to electronic devices to avoid any weakness or penetration.
On the danger of attacks supported by artificial intelligence, he explained that this type of attack is one of the most dangerous challenges facing government performance in the digital age, as it can lead to disruption of systems and services or leaking sensitive data, leading to the publication of misleading information that may weaken society’s confidence in government services and slow the march of digital transformation.
For his part, the head of the electronic crime control department at Ras Al -Khaimah Police, Major Saif Sultan Boulaleh, stressed that the most common crimes are financial fraud, electronic blackmail, accounting of accounts, and insulting using information technology, indicating that its pace is witnessing a noticeable increase with the breadth of dependence on digital platforms.
Bolila explained that there is direct coordination with the Communications Regulatory Authority and other security bodies through committees and joint work teams to exchange information and enhance the electronic security system, adding that the Ras Al Khaimah Police is implementing periodic awareness programs in cooperation with the governmental and private sectors and in partnership with the media administration, to enhance the prevention of cyber crimes and raise the level of societal awareness.
In turn, the director of the electronic research and investigation branch in Ras Al -Khaimah Police, Captain Omar Rashid Al -Shehhi, stated that the security efforts are based on the Act of Combating Rumors and Electronic Crime No. (34) of 2021, as well as laws for protecting data that impose strict criteria on institutions.
He stated that the UAE plays a global pivotal role in combating cyber crimes, through security cooperation and exchanging information with countries and competent international organizations, pointing out that the Ras Al Khaimah Police is organizing annual awareness campaigns in cooperation with the partners, to raise awareness of the dangers of electronic fraud and digital protection methods.
The Director of the Security and Rules of Information Branch in Ras Al Khaimah Police, First Lieutenant Maryam Abdullah Al -Nuaimi, stressed that the close cooperation between the government and private sectors in the country constitutes a pioneering model for promoting cybersecurity, through the establishment of specialized councils and centers in partnership with the major global technology companies to protect digital infrastructure and its sensitive data.
She added that the UAE adopted a strategic approach that focuses on the active partnership, represented in the establishment of the Emirates Cyber Security Council, which plays a pivotal role in formulating policies and strategies, as well as launching the Center for Excellence for Cyber Security in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the global company “Google”, which provides a reliable environment that supports institutions in the march of digital transformation, and enhances the development of national competencies with computing capabilities Advanced.
Al -Nuaimi stressed that cybersecurity has become a basic pillar to protect individuals, institutions and societies, stressing that the role of civil society and the media is pivotal in direct access to the targeted groups and building a digital society fortified from the attacks.
