Bahraini Minister of Transportation praises Dubai in smart transportation
Dubai, September 24 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Communications and Communications in the Kingdom of Bahrain, confirmed that Dubai has proven its leadership in adopting strategic initiatives in the field of smart transport and self -driving vehicles, which contributed to a significant increase in the number of smart vehicles in the emirate.
This came on the sidelines of his participation in the Dubai World Self -Driving Conference, which is organized by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, and is a global platform to review the latest trends and technologies in this vital sector.
“I am honored to participate in the Dubai World Self -Driving Conference, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain here in the Emirate of Dubai, and in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and the conference comes to reflect the extent of global development in the field of self -driving vehicles, and to constitute an important platform to review the most prominent trends and modern technologies,” he said.
He added that the conference sessions highlighted the necessity of adopting an integrated system that allows the safe operation of self -driving vehicles, through a modern and flexible experimental framework, which takes into account environmental standards using renewable energy, and is based on community awareness of the responsibility to use these technologies.
He explained that many international companies are racing to provide the latest innovations in this field, but approximately 77% of them stop working after a short period of its foundation, which makes sustainability a pivotal component of the success of smart transportation.
He pointed out that Bahrain’s participation in the conference reflects the keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Communications to enhance cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, and to see the latest technologies and best practices in organizing the smart movement.
