Destroyed Jeddah Governorate Municipality About 1,100 kilograms of spoiled meat and fish, in addition to more than 4,000 packages of dairy and Expired canned food, as part of a joint field campaign carried out in the east of the governorate, which resulted in the seizure and closure of an illegal site operated inside a building under construction.

The Director General of the General Administration for Monitoring and Treating Negative Phenomena, Yasser bin Siraj Bakhsh, explained that the field teams entered the site, which is a single-storey (bone) building equipped with an electricity meter, which was used to store and sell food supplies in unhealthy conditions that lack the approved requirements.

He stated that the campaign was implemented with the support of the Umm al-Salam Sub-municipality and in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and the Ministry of Commerce and Civil Defense, where inspections revealed large quantities of rotting and damaged food items, including (800) kilograms of meat and (300) kilograms of fish of unknown origin in a state of complete spoilage, in addition to more than (4,700) packages of dairy, canned foods, and various food products, as well as dozens of cartons of sweets and consumables, And quantities of spices and other products of unknown origin.

He pointed out that the teams used Civil Defense to open a separate part of the building that was used as a point of sale, where all materials of unknown origin were destroyed immediately, while the valid materials were sorted and delivered to the National Society for Preserving Grace “Estidama.”

He added that the Umm al-Salam Sub-municipality notified the site to complete the legal and penal procedures against the lessor, stressing the continuation of joint tours to monitor violating activities and reduce irregular practices that affect public health.
