India seeks to increase the purchase of energy from America

The Indian Minister of Commerce, Bio Joyal, said yesterday that New Delhi wants to increase the purchase of oil and gas from the United States, amid efforts to persuade Washington to reduce customs duties on the country’s exports and reach a commercial agreement, according to Bloomberg News Agency.

“We expect to increase the rate of our trade with America in energy products in the coming years, and because we are friends and natural partners, our energy security goals will be strongly dependent on the participation of the United States,” Joyl is visiting America to meet US officials, after President Donald Trump imposed customs duties by 50% on Indian exports.
