Dubai Police is looking to enhance human rights and future prospects

Dubai, September 25 / WAM / The Dubai Police General Command, represented by the General Administration of Human Rights, discussed ways to enhance the human rights system and its future prospects, during a dialogue session, entitled “Human Rights in a Changing World … Challenges of Reality and Future Prospects”, with the participation of government agencies and local and charitable institutions concerned with the sector.

Brigadier Abdel Rahman Al -Shaer, Director of the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police, stressed in his speech during the session that the UAE has established its position in protecting rights and freedoms through a legislative system and integrated policies that are in line with international agreements, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

He added that Dubai Police, since the establishment of the first human rights department in 1995, has proven to be a humanitarian institution that places the protection of human dignity and the preservation of rights at the heart of its work, which made it a global model to follow.

He pointed out that the partnership between the concerned authorities represents an essential pillar in promoting the protection of children and women and dealing with human rights complaints, stressing that coordination and integration contribute to achieving concrete and sustainable results.

He pointed out that the session represents a platform for constructive dialogue, exchanging experiences and exploring new mechanisms to develop the response and enhance joint cooperation.

The session discussed four main axes, which included: Protection of children and women by discussing mechanisms for unifying future procedures in dealing with victims and developing family complaints mechanisms, and the human trafficking axis that dealt with future priorities to safeguard workers’ rights in the facilities sector, in addition to the axis of humanitarian support that focused on enhancing integration between partners and associations through digital platforms, while the fourth axis touched on the mechanisms of enhancing coordination with the Ministry of Interior The challenges associated with participation in international conferences and reports.

The session witnessed a number of officials of government agencies, institutions and charitable societies, including Colonel Saeed Al -Sabousi, Director of Administrative Affairs Department, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Al -Matroushi, Director of the Department of Child Protection and Women in Dubai Police.

Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al -Shaer honored representatives of the participating authorities, which included the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Courts, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority, Emirates Health Services Corporation, Public Prosecution, Permanent Committee for Workers Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, National Fund for Social Responsibility “Harra”, Dar Al Bar Association, World Charitable Business Authority, Tarmam Charity Foundation, Sharjah Charitable Society, Association Dubai Charity and Sharjah Charity House.
