Al Ain leads professional clubs in scoring points away from home

Al Ain team continued its successful journey in the professional league during the current season 2025-2026, after it succeeded in gaining valuable points away from home, which contributed to strengthening its score and maintaining the top spot in the general standings with 50 points, one point ahead of its rival Shabab Al Ahly, which in turn is considered the second team with the most victories away from home, after 20 rounds of the competition.

Away matches represent an important opportunity for teams to enhance their chances of competing for advanced positions, as statistics from the Professional League Association revealed that the visitors outperformed the home owners in 54 out of 140 matches held during the past 20 rounds, compared to 52 victories for the home owners, and 34 matches that ended in a draw.

Al-Ain and Shabab Al-Ahly each played 11 matches away from home, but Al-Ain was the most successful, after collecting 29 points from nine wins and two draws, including its victory in the fifth round against its host Shabab Al-Ahly with a goal without a response.

On the other hand, Shabab Al-Ahly scored 27 points away from home from eight wins and three draws, the last of which was their victory in the last round over Dibba with a clean score, giving the “Dubai Knights” the opportunity to regain their standing when they face Al-Ain at the top of the 22nd round on April 10 of this year.

The results of the leading teams varied in collecting points away from home, as Al Jazira, which is in third place with 37 points, collected 18 points from 10 matches away from home (five wins and three draws), including a positive draw (1-1) against Al Ain in the eighth round, and an important victory over Al Wahda (2-1) in the 17th round.

Despite occupying sixth place with 27 points, Al-Nasr is the fourth team with the most points scored away from home, having collected 16 points from 10 matches (four wins and four draws), the last of which was a draw (1-1) against Al-Ain in the 16th round.

As for Al-Wahda, which is in fourth place with 34 points, it was satisfied with collecting 13 points away from home from three victories and four draws, noting that all of its external victories came in the first leg, starting with the victory over Ajman (2-0), then Al-Jazira (1-0), and Al-Bataeh (3-1).

Khor Fakkan did not benefit from its positive results away from home in the struggle to escape from the bottom, as it currently occupies 11th place with 20 points, despite collecting 13 points away from home, equal to Al Wahda, Ajman and Baniyas.

Sharjah and Kalba are equal with 21 points each, and the two teams are also equal in the number of points achieved away from home (12 points), but Kalba achieved it with four victories, compared to three victories and three draws for Sharjah.

Although Al-Wasl returned to winning ways in the 20th round by defeating Al-Dhafra by three clean goals, it is considered the least among the leading teams to have scored points away from home, having collected only nine points from nine matches (with two victories and three draws).

Al-Bataeh is considered one of the teams that did not capitalize on its results outside the country, despite collecting nine points, as it occupies the penultimate place with 17 points.

Al Dhafra is also the lowest in scoring away from home, with only six points, and occupies 12th place, with 18 points, two points behind Dibba, which is in last place, with 14 points.
