Israel is considering “providing a safe passage” for Hamas leaders from Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is considering providing a safe passage for Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip abroad under certain conditions.

“If Hamas leaders are accompanied, for example, out of the country, yes, if they ended the war and released all the prisoners, we will allow them to go out,” he told the American Fox News.

He pointed out that he mentioned this idea before, but its details now need to clarify amid discussions about the plan prepared by US President Donald Trump on Gaza. Netanyahu confirmed that this plan has not been completed yet, adding that his government is still discussing it with the Trump team.

Today, the Israeli Prime Minister will meet the US President at the White House. According to media reports, the Trump plan consisting of 21 points includes the immediate release of the remaining 20 neighborhood prisoners in Gaza compared to hundreds of Palestinians detained in Israel, in addition to the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip.

Reports indicate that Hamas will no longer play a role in managing the Gaza Strip, and will not allow Israel to include the Strip. A transitional government will rule by the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu said that he hopes to implement the Trump plan: “Because we want to liberate our prisoners. We want to get rid of Hamas rule, disarm, disarm from Gaza, and achieve a new future for the Gaza Strip, Israelis alike, and the entire region.”

This comes as Trump confirmed yesterday that the ongoing talks regarding his plan to stop the war in the Gaza Strip “are progressing very well.”
