The UAE is ranked first in the third Gulf Club Football Championship

Doha, June 3 / WAM / The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation announced that next September 9 has been set as the date for drawing the draw for the third edition of the Gulf Champions Club League, which is scheduled to be held during the period from October 13 to April 30 next.
The Arabian Gulf Cup Federation determined the mechanism for distributing seats in the next edition, which will be held for the first time with the participation of 12 clubs instead of eight clubs, through the classification of national federations according to the Asian Football Confederation classification for the 2026-2027 season.
According to the classification, the UAE Football Association is in the first classification alongside the federations of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iraq, as these federations get two seats in the tournament, while the second classification includes the federations of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Yemen, and these federations get one seat in the tournament.
The Federation also invited the national federations to name the clubs that will represent them in the next edition.
The Gulf Federation stressed the need for the clubs nominated to participate to be among the highest-ranking clubs in the local league, after the clubs participating in the AFC competitions for the same season.
