(91) Countries in the Global Green Economy Alliance and another (15) completing their joining procedures

Dubai, October 2 / WAM / Abdul Rahim Sultan, Director General of the World Economy Organization, confirmed that the organization has established a major partner of countries in the process of shift towards sustainable development, noting that the global green economy alliance launched by the organization in cooperation with the UAE today includes 91 member states that benefit from various programs and services that include capacity building, technical and financial support, in addition to the transfer of technology and knowledge among members.
Sultan said in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the World Summit for the Green Economy, that 15 other countries are in the process of completing the procedures for joining during the coming period.
He stressed that the increase in the number of member states reflects international confidence in the role of the organization as a strategic partner in supporting the global green transformation efforts, stressing that the organization will continue to work with its partners to enhance international cooperation in the areas of clean energy, sustainable financing, and the development of projects that achieve sustainable development goals.
He explained that the amount of projects within the framework of the organization amounts to 1.1 billion dollars, but it is exclusively dedicated to the projects that are approved as green projects, stressing that the current stage focuses on completing capacity building programs before moving to the stage of spending on actual projects.
