Federal Taxes: High compliance rates in providing corporate tax decisions reflect the efficiency of the tax system

Abu Dhabi, October 5/ WAM/ The Federal Tax Authority confirmed that those who are subject to corporate tax have achieved high compliance rates regarding registration with the authority in the legal periods specified for each category, and showed an obligation to provide tax declarations, annual permits and pay tax dues during the specified periods.
The commission stated in a statement today that the completion of the treatment of large numbers of declarations reflects the success and efficiency of the tax and procedural system that is compatible with international best practices and provides digital compliance mechanisms that are the latest of its kind globally, and provide adequate information and guidelines to enhance tax awareness and help the business sectors and enable them to voluntarily comply easily and accurately.
His Excellency Khaled Ali Al -Bustani, Director General of the Authority, announced that the number of registrars for corporate tax exceeded 640 thousand registrars, pointing to the great demand from the registrants to submit the declarations and pay the tax due to pay the commission before the end of the date set for delivery and payment “i.e. the end of September 2025” for the tax period “the fiscal year” ending last December 2024.
His Excellency stressed that the past period witnessed a remarkable increase in the level of compliance and the response of the tax with legislation and tax procedures, as a result of increased awareness and the spread of tax culture, in light of the authority’s keenness to permanently communicate with those concerned with the tax sector to identify their opinions and enhance their contributions to the sustainable development plans carried out by the authority, and seek to document its relations with the community with its institutions, members and all partners Strategists, through continuous meetings through committees and joint consulting and coordination groups that include representatives from the relevant authorities and the private sector in the country.
His Excellency said that the statistics showed the treatment of hundreds of thousands of tax declarations and the annual statements received from registered with companies taxes whose tax period or their fiscal year has ended on December 31, 2024, and this high rate of tax compliance is achieved with the high tax awareness of the business sectors, and as a result of the ease of steps provided by the authority to submit the decisions and pay taxes It is entitled to the “Emirates Tax” platform, which provides digital tax services around the clock, with clear and speed measures, where thousands of requests were received daily during the last period and dealt with them very efficiently, and the communication center also provided the immediate support necessary for taxpayers when needed during peak times.
He explained that, in the context of the rational leadership directives to preserve a tax legislative environment encouraging voluntary compliance, characterized by flexibility and keeping pace with the variables, many initiatives were launched to support those subject to corporate tax and facilitate their tax compliance, including the Council of Ministers regarding the initiative to exempt those who are subject to corporate tax and some categories of exempt persons demanding registration with the authority from the administrative fines resulting from Delay in submitting registration requests during the specified legal period, while determining a condition for the exemption from the fine that the tax subject “or the exempted person who demands the registration” submit his tax approval “or his annual statement” within a period not exceeding seven months from the end of the end of his first tax period.
The Director General of the Federal Tax Authority attributed the increase in compliance and the success of the tax system in dealing efficiently and immediate treatment of large numbers of requests for submission of declarations and payment of tax dues to the pre -emptive steps and facilities provided by the authority to continue to advance tax services, where all procedures related to corporate tax can be completed via the “TAX” platform for services.
