President Sisi discusses with his Algerian counterpart in a phone call strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a telephone call with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in light of the preparations for the convening of the joint higher committee scheduled for next month in Cairo, headed by the two prime ministers.
The two presidents stressed the importance of good preparation for the committee’s meetings in a way that contributes to advancing joint cooperation. In various fields, it enhances the process of historical relations between the two brotherly peoples.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, explained that the call witnessed an exchange of visions on a number of regional issues, as the discussions reflected a great consensus between Egypt and Algeria, especially regarding the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to work to restore stability to the Middle East region.
In this context, the President reviewed Al-Sisi reviewed the efforts made by Egypt to end the war in Gaza, and begin implementing US President Donald Trump’s plan, as well as the course of the negotiations hosted by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh between Hamas and the Israeli side, with the participation of Qatar and the United States. He stressed the importance of investing in the momentum resulting from the American plan and international recognition of the State of Palestine, and working to launch a peaceful political path that leads to a two-state solution in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy.
For his part, President Tebboune praised Egypt’s efforts to stop the war, facilitate the arrival of aid, and reject the displacement of the residents of Gaza, stressing Algeria’s full support for these efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The call also witnessed. Exchanging congratulations on the occasion of the fifty-second anniversary of the glorious victories of October 6, where the Algerian President congratulated the leadership, people and armed forces of Egypt, praising the heroic role that embodied the will of the Arab nation. President Sisi expressed his appreciation for this generous gesture, stressing Egypt’s pride in the historic role played by the Algerian armed forces in the October War, an embodiment of the depth of ties between the two countries and the unity of Arab destiny.
