The Mufti of the Republic welcomes the ceasefire agreement and the end of the war in Gaza
Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Houses and Bodies in the World, welcomed the ceasefire agreement and ending the war in Gaza after two years of brutal aggression against the defenseless Strip, stressing that this agreement is an extremely important step on the path to restoring security and stability in the region, and represents a new glimmer of hope that will end the suffering of the Palestinian people, who have paid a heavy price in blood, lives and property, noting that The widespread destruction and severe human suffering that the Gaza Strip has witnessed over the past two years requires the international community to take a serious stance and moral responsibility towards the reconstruction of this sector and support this people, who are facing unprecedented, tragic circumstances.
The Mufti of the Republic stressed that it is time for the sun of peace to shine again on faces exhausted by the siege and destruction; May the Palestinians be safe after fear, fed after hunger, and enjoy a life full of security and stability, calling on God Almighty to make this step a real beginning for a permanent path of peace based on justice, in a way that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that ending the war should not be a temporary goal, but rather a starting point towards building a future. Better, in which human dignity is preserved and international laws are respected, and what was destroyed by the war is reconstructed so that the people of Gaza can live a dignified life worthy of their steadfastness and sacrifices.
The Mufti of the Republic appreciated the sincere Egyptian and international efforts that sought with all sincerity and responsibility to achieve this agreement, stressing that Egypt, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, played a pivotal role in reaching this agreement. agreement, and has proven with its wise vision since the beginning of the crisis that the Egyptian proposal is the most correct and most appropriate for the path of calm and ending the war, and that its firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause reflects the vision of the Egyptian state based on consolidating the foundations of security and stability in the region, explaining that the Egyptian movements over the past two years were not limited to the political aspect only, but included the humanitarian and relief aspects, through its efforts to introduce… aid and alleviate the suffering of civilians, which confirmed to the world that Egypt will remain the beating heart of Arabism, and a faithful support for the Palestinian cause until a just and comprehensive peace is achieved.
