Ambassador Al-Aklouk: Egypt responded to the pressures of displacement and protected the Palestinian cause

Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, affirmed that the Palestinian people highly value the historical role of the Arab Republic of Egypt, which on its soil embraced mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and contributed with its steadfastness and bravery in preventing the displacement of the Palestinian people or the liquidation of their cause, stressing that Egypt considered the Palestinian issue an essential part of its national security.

He said. Al-Aklouk – in a statement to the Middle East News Agency – said that the Palestinian leadership welcomed the sincere Egyptian and Qatari mediation efforts, in addition to the American and international efforts that aimed to spare the blood of the Palestinian people, explaining that these efforts resulted in reaching an agreement for the first phase of a ceasefire on the land of Egypt.

 

He added that the heroic Palestinian people are breathing a sigh of relief today, especially our people in the Gaza Strip. Gaza, 733 continuous days after the crime of genocide committed by Israel with the aim of eliminating him and liquidating his cause, noting that this crime claimed more than a quarter of a million victims including martyrs, wounded and missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of tortured, starving, sick and displaced persons, after Israel destroyed 80% of life in the Gaza Strip.

 

He pointed out Until today, Israeli goals are being shattered on the rock of the Palestinian people remaining on their land. Despite all the Israeli crimes and terrorism that are unprecedented in history, and despite attempts at forced displacement, the Palestinian people have remained steadfast on their land, because their roots run deep in Palestine.

 

He stressed that life will begin to return to the Gaza Strip in a way that will astonish the world, saying: “We trust that our people will re-strengthen their steadfastness, existence, and civilization that extends back thousands of years on their land.” He added: “Here is Gaza City, inhabited for more than 5,800 continuous years. It has remained steadfast despite the massive destruction inflicted on it by Israel, a modern state with shallow roots. And tomorrow we will reproduce what Mahmoud Darwish said: Nero died, Rome did not die, and Gaza did not die, with its eyes fighting, and the seeds of a dying ear will fill the valley with ears of ears.”

 

Al-Aklouk called for the implementation of the decisions of the Arab summits that affirmed support and empowerment for the government of the State of Palestine to assume all its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, with Arab and international support, within the framework of political unity. He also called for the implementation of the declaration of the high-level two-state solution conference that was held. In New York last month, under Saudi-French presidency and broad international participation, he stressed the need for President Trump, who contributed an invaluable effort to stopping the Israeli aggression, and with all international partners, to continue working to establish a just and sustainable peace and end the Israeli occupation.

 

He stressed that enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights to self-determination The return must be in accordance with international law, United Nations resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, leading to the embodiment of the independence of the State of Palestine with full sovereignty on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. They will pursue and hold Israeli criminals accountable, and they will seek to translate the global momentum in support of their rights into a tangible political reality represented by the embodiment of their state’s independence, with its pledge to perpetuate the memory of hundreds of thousands of victims of genocide who were killed, starved, and tortured by Israel, by launching a clear legal description of this crime and criminalizing its denial.
