President Sisi receives a phone call from the Secretary-General of the United Nations

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the call dealt with the latest developments regarding the agreement to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, as the President reviewed with the Secretary-General of the United Nations the content of the agreement reached through Egyptian-Qatari-American mediation in its various stages, stressing the necessity of agreeing on all relevant details. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, explained that the Secretary-General of the United Nations thanked Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the great efforts made by Cairo to stop the war and alleviate the human suffering in Gaza, and bring in aid in cooperation with the United Nations and its various agencies, expressing his aspiration for continued cooperation with Egyptian institutions to improve the situation.
Guterres stressed the need to agree on all the details of the agreement in all its stages, stressing the importance of reaching a path that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy, ensuring the unity of the Palestinian territories between Gaza and the West Bank, and implementing the right to self-determination.
The official spokesman indicated that the Secretary-General of the United Nations stressed the importance of deploying international forces in the Gaza Strip, and granting the agreement legitimacy. International through the Security Council, with the immediate start of reconstruction, welcoming the conference that Egypt will host for this purpose.
He also stressed that Egypt represents the pivotal element in achieving stability in the Middle East, and that the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was a decisive factor in reaching this historic agreement.
For his part, the President expressed his appreciation for the positive positions of the Secretary-General from the beginning crisis, noting that Egypt had already begun sending urgent shipments of food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip immediately after reaching the agreement, stressing Cairo’s full support for the role of United Nations agencies, especially UNRWA, and the necessity of continuing its historic role in the relief and work of Palestinian refugees.
