Japan awards the Order of the Rising Sun to Dr. Mohamed Maait, representative of the Arab Group at the International Monetary Fund

A new achievement is added to the Egyptian achievements with Japan choosing to award the Order of the Rising Sun, the gold and silver star, to Dr. Mohamed Maait, former Minister of Finance, Executive Director and high-level representative of the Arab Group to the International Monetary Fund.
According to the letter of the Japanese Embassy to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the selection came based on the contributions made by Maait in strengthening relations between Egypt. And Japan.
The embassy expressed its deep appreciation for the great Egyptian efforts and strengthening relations between the two countries.
This achievement comes especially after the election of Dr. Khaled Anani, as the first Egyptian to assume the position of Director of UNESCO, to continue telling the story of the success of Egypt and its people in achieving achievements at all global levels
Dr. Mohamed Maait held many positions and obtained many academic degrees, and his contributions were clear to the success of the comprehensive health insurance system.
Maait is also the former Egyptian Minister of Finance. He worked as Deputy Minister of Finance for Public Treasury Affairs and head of the Economic Justice Unit starting from March 2016 until he was chosen as a minister in the new formation.
Maait has extensive experience in the government work cabinet, where he has worked since 2007. As Assistant Minister of Finance for Social Insurance Affairs during the era of Youssef Boutros Ghali, the last Minister of Finance during the era of former President Hosni Mubarak.
Moait continued in his position as Assistant Minister of Finance after the January 25 Revolution until his resignation during the era of the Brotherhood in 2013, then he worked as Vice President of the Financial Supervision Authority until 2015, and also served as Acting Chairman of the Authority.
