The Cultural Development Fund Sector announced the opening of applications to participate in the fifteenth session of the Cairo International Animated Film Forum, which is scheduled to be held during the period from 25 to 31 December 2025, under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
The head of the Cultural Development Fund Sector confirmed that the forum represents one of the leading cultural platforms that embraces young talents and supports the arts. Animation is one of the tributaries of the creative industries in Egypt and the Arab world, noting that the Fund continues, through its various activities, to support youth creativity and encourage artistic initiatives that contribute to enhancing Egypt’s cultural and artistic status at the international level.
He explained that the Cairo International Animation Film Forum reflects the vision of the Ministry of Culture in empowering young creators and expanding the base of participation in digital arts. And modern visuals, stressing the Fund’s keenness to develop the forum’s mechanisms and add new branches to the competition in line with global developments in the field of animation and virtual reality.
For his part, the forum’s commissioner, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ghalib said that the application period continues until October 30, explaining that this session comes as a continuation of the success of the previous sessions, which witnessed wide participation from arts students and young graduates, in addition to a number of international cultural institutions and bodies concerned with the arts of animation, which were keen to be present in the previous forum activities, because it represents a distinguished platform for cultural exchange. And creative.
“Ghalib” added The forum aims to spread and develop the art of animation and advance it, through interaction with young creative experiences in various countries of the world, and highlighting the distinguished production in this advanced artistic field.
He explained that participation is available in the following branches: Short Animation Film Competition, Long Animation Film Competition, and the First Work “Films” Competition. Students" And the television and commercial works competition, the experimental animation films competition, and the virtual reality films competition.
The works are required to be produced in the year 2023 or later, and their duration is not less than one minute, and a copy suitable for display must be submitted accompanied by the investment and participation, a summary of the work, a summary of the director, and photographs. From the movie.
