The Ministry of Tourism launches the “Rehla” platform to organize free school trips to archaeological sites and museums

Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Tourism launched a new digital platform called “Trip” to organize free school trips for government school students to archaeological sites and museums in various governorates of the Republic, as part of the Ministry’s strategy to raise archaeological and tourism awareness among young people and encourage them to learn about Egypt’s ancient civilization.
Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism, explained. Antiquities, the launch of the platform comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to employ modern technology in the tourism and archaeological work system, and to support digital transformation in a way that contributes to improving the educational and tourism experience, and enabling government school students to visit archaeological sites and museums in an organized and safe manner.
The Minister added that the “Rehlat” platform It will allow public schools to organize their free trips throughout the academic year, in implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Grand Egyptian Museum and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which approved free entry for students in the primary and preparatory stages of public schools.
He pointed out that the launch of the platform coincides with the beginning of the new academic year, which facilitates electronic reservation procedures and reduces overcrowding and crowding, stressing that the goal of The initiative is to enhance students’ connection with Egyptian civilization and instill the values of archaeological and tourism awareness in them from a young age.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Assistant Minister for Digital Services, explained that the platform was developed in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, through the integration of databases between the two ministries to ensure the accuracy and ease of electronic reservation and to verify the identity of school coordinators.
He pointed out that the platform It allows reservations for school trips to 112 archaeological sites and museums nationwide, including: the Pyramids of Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Citadel of Saladin, the Valley of the Kings, the Karnak Temple, the Temple of Deir el-Bahri, and the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria.
He stressed that the electronic system depends on organizing the dates of visits and the number of visits. Visitors at each site to avoid crowding and achieve a distinct educational, cultural and tourism experience.
