Conclusion of the second edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Abu Dhabi, 12 October / WAM / The activities of the second edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship concluded today at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, where the final round competitions extended over 3 days, and on its closing day witnessed bouts in the categories of children and buds under 12 years of age.
The tournament witnessed 8 rounds held in various parts of the country during the current year, which included competitions for various age groups in 5 rounds for the “suit” category and 3 rounds for the “without suit” category.
At the conclusion of the final round of the tournament, the suit category competitions witnessed Baniyas Club winning the title, while Al Jazira Club achieved runner-up status, and Al Ain Club came in third place, while the “Without Suit” category competitions witnessed the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club winning the title, Al Ain Club taking runner-up, while “MOD” Academy came in third place.
His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, confirmed that the second edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship provided an inspiring model for sporting and organizational excellence. He said that what was achieved over 8 rounds reflects the insightful vision and unlimited support of the wise leadership of the sports sector, and the great efforts made by clubs and academies to raise the level of the game.
He added that this tournament has turned into a national platform for creating future champions and strengthening the country’s leadership in this sport, and we are honored today to celebrate the talents that represent the cornerstone of a path of future achievements, God willing.
During the closing ceremony, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation honored the sponsors in appreciation of their continued support for the tournament’s progress, and the outstanding contributions they made that played a major role in the success of its events and consolidating its position on the sports scene.
Today’s competitions were attended by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the Emirates Accounting Authority, His Excellency Sarah Awad Muslim, Chairman of the Department of Education and Knowledge, His Excellency Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Undersecretary of the Department of Education and Knowledge, His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamsi, Director General and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Language Center.
