The Minister of Health discusses cooperation with the CEO of the German WifOR Institute

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, met with Professor Dennis Ostwald, founder and CEO of the German WifOR Institute, one of the most prominent global research institutes specialized in health economics and assessing the economic impact of health investments, on the sidelines of the World Health Summit held in Berlin.
The Dr. stated that Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and the WifOR Institute in several priority areas, including developing health technology assessment systems, applying health economics methodologies to measure the health sector’s contribution to the national economy, in addition to building national capabilities in the areas of economic analysis and evidence-based health policies.
He added. «Abdul Ghaffar» The two sides discussed the possibility of conducting studies to evaluate the social and economic impact of health programs in Egypt, in line with the goals of sustainable development, with a focus on exchanging best international practices in the field of measuring the social return on health investments.
He pointed to Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar’s emphasis during the meeting on the Egyptian state’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships in the field of public health, stressing the importance of cooperation with leading global research institutions in health economics. and sustainability, to support health reform plans and develop health policies based on data and evidence.
